About

The MaRS Commons is located in the MaRS Heritage Building, the former Toronto General Hospital. It was opened in 1913 – Ford was building a Model T plant at Dupont and Christie streets, and the following year the Toronto Blueshirts would win the first Stanley Cup. This legacy is visible in the weathered brick, the terra-cotta trimmings and the iron railings.

Inside these venerable walls the Commons is a 5,500-square-foot modern open-concept workspace complete with a boardroom, three meeting rooms and a kitchen. It’s home to MaRS’s ICE practice and a co-working facility for a curated group of startups.
